About This Guide
Our Field Guide is a supplement to what we do everyday–helping teams and individuals striving to make the world better–by offering tools to work across lines of difference, collaborate better and embrace creativity and equity. The larger impact of these tools is to move our society toward freedom and justice, but they are equally impactful on the individual level, making us better listeners, communicators and collaborators.
We’ve gathered insights from over 15 years of supporting team growth and systemic impact. We are grateful to have the opportunity to share back the tools and resources we have found most useful for successful project design.
The Field Guide is structured around phases of learning that support creativity, increasing one’s impact and building freedom: awareness, analysis, action and accountability.
This is not a linear progression. Rather, it is a cycle that teams consistently move through during growth and development. Your organization may be anywhere in this process. Our hope is that the Field Guide helps to strengthen you in your current phase and begin to imagine your next step.
Giving Thanks
We stand on the shoulders of all of our teachers. We are grateful to everyone that has made their tools and resources publicly available on this site. We have not created most of the tools and resources you will find here, but rather compiled, organized and connected them in a way that we hope offers new and more effective methods of designing change projects.
If there are tools you find useful, we encourage you to seek out the authors and engage their services or support their work in the world.
